Amanda Barrett, MD

Obstetrician Gynecologist

Dr. Barrett grew up in New Tazewell, Tennessee. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology at Middle Tennessee State University. Her medical school career at East Tennessee State University was notable for being in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. After graduating in 2004, she attended residency at Vanderbilt University. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Barrett lives in Nashville with her husband and their two children. When away from work, she enjoys reading, traveling, and playing board games or working puzzles with friends and family. Dr. Barrett enjoys obstacle course races and has participated in several over the years. Be sure to ask her about her team’s costumes for the races. It’s a good story but a better visual.

Dr. Barrett was the doctor during both my pregnancies.
She's the best doctor & she ensured I had safe pregnancies. She's very experienced & is calm & addresses all the concerns.

I couldn't recommend anyone better than her.

I genuinely want to call out that she's one of the few doctors who still chooses normal delivery over c-section (for most cases unless c-section is really needed)

Dr. Barrett was my OB during my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies/csection deliveries. She was incredible, listened to every concern, and gave great, detailed feedback. My third pregnancy was particularly difficult with numerous complications, but I always knew I was getting the best care with her as my provider. I now live in Charlotte, NC while pregnant with my last baby, and I so wish I still lived in Nashville and had Dr. B as my provider. She is the best of the best!!!
